A PENCIL SKETCH

It started as an attempt to divert myself from my depressed mood, an idea by Raghu. I have enjoyed the popularity of being a good artist, even if my art consisted of sketches and pencil portraits which rather looked like caricatures.....It was this artistic side of mine, that made me take up architecture as a field to pursue, and in five years, I honed my skills of free-hand sketching.
Sketching was omni-present in my life, and all my note books were filled with meaningless sketches wherever words didnt cover the white space.
When I entered the field of Urban Planning, I didnt expect to have zero chances of sketching ideas, and the burden of the course work, pulled me away from sketching, although I bought myself a nice sketch book and a couple of Staedtler Pencils, one 4B and one 6B. The book lay empty, except for one portrait of my good friend Karthik, and that too in ink.
I wanted to sketch the face of lord Krishna today, and I searched for a simple but sweet sketch or painting of his, and I found exactly what I was looking for....a sketch of little Krishna. As I sharpened the 4B pencil (I dont actually sharpen it and I dont use a sharpner here...I use a blade !) and started my sketch, I felt my fingers stiff and shivering, maybe because of inactivity (it's all typing here, no writing, and NO sketching at all!!!)
I finally finished it and although with some flaws, I noticed that the sketch echoed more confidence in me and my fingers than ever before, and the finish looked more "mature".......This sketch shall remain an unforgettable one for ever..........I even liked my new artistic signature.......
