ROOMMATES

Life with roommates - After having lived with parents for 23 years, the next phase in my life started, as an independent adult, no escape from responsibilities, a phase which saw me live with roommates. I feel now, after two years, that every man needs to go through these phases, to reach the phase where, he starts living happily ever after, with his spouse.

SO what is so special about this phase called life with roommates? You meet different types of people, from different cultures, with different tastes and habits. At first, you feel that all you need to do is to compromise wherever you need to, and keep your famous temper down, and that defines amicability between roommates. But later you see, that each person has a personal space and a common space, and often you find his common space intruding into your personal one and vice versa. This leads many times to arguments, to fights, to sarcastic discussions,to making fun of each other etc.

But again, you spend some of your very memorable moments with them, they turn out to be your strength when you are down, emotionally or physically, they turn out to be more than just roommates. They simply redefine the word friendship.

As we spend the time, cooking, watching movies and having fun, the friendship develops into a close knit relationship. When you go away from each other, to pursue your higher goals and ambitions, you do not get to talk to each other regularly. But yet, whenever you talk, you find the same friendly tone, same tickling comfort in their voice and also in yours.

And one thing we realize late but take for granted, is the fact that, it is these roommates that teach you the art of living on your own, which later helps in being a responsible spouse in a post-marital life.....

Life with Roommates is indeed special...and a special memory to cherish, all your life.........
